Kintyre boasts a number of first class events during the year.  Below are a list of the major annual events which will be updated continually.

Kintyre Piping Society Springbank Invitational - Saturday 21st September 2013

21st September 2013 and will be held in the Seafield Hotel Campbeltown starting at 10am.

The pipers taking part are Willie McCallum, Angus MacColl, Stuart Liddell, Roddy Macleod MBE, Gordon Walker, Iain Speirs,Niall Stewart and Callum Beaumont. They will be competing in three competitions the Piobaireachd, March Strathspey and Reel and Hornpipe and Jig.  The Judges are Commander John Wilson, PM Iain Morrison and Mr Iain MacFadyen and the Fear-an Tighe for the day will be Mr Richard Cameron.

Entry will be £8 and will be free for under 18's

Springbank Open Day - Thursday 24th May 2012

Another one for your 2012 calendar! Springbank Distillers, the oldest independent family owned distillery in Scotland (founded in 1828), have just announed their Open Day will be held on Thursday 24th May 2012.  Starting at around 11am, and continuing late into the evening, there will be a range of tastings, free tours all days, Fyne ales bar, local producers will have their goodies on display, pipe and brass bands, BBQ, special bottlings and of course a whisky bar...plus, we are sure, other things that we have missed!  Click here to find out more >>>> 

Brewin Dolphin Scottish Series, Tarbert - Friday 1st to Sunday 3rd June 2012

A particularly attractive natural harbour used for sailing ships over more than a thousand years, Tarbert on Loch Fyne annually hosts Clyde Cruising Club's 'Brewn Dolphin Scottish Series', which has become Scotland's biggest yachting event, and second indeed, in Britain's waters, only to Cowes Week.  Click here to find visit the Scottish Series website  >>>>

Kintyre Songwriter's Festival - Friday 1st to Sunday 3rd June 2012

The dates for this year's festival have been finalised, and the fifth Songwriters Festival will kick off on Friday the 1st June and end with a no-doubt fantastic finale on Sunday 3rd June 2012.  If last year's festival is anything to go by, then this year's festival will be an absolute cracker!  This year's festival has been moved a week to fall in with the extended public holiday.    Click here to find out more >>>>

Mull of Kintyre Half Marathon and 10k - Sunday 3rd June 2012

Voted the UK's number 1 Half Marathon in 2010 and 2011 the 2012's entry of 750 places were snapped up in just six weeks confirming how popular this race is.  But its not just the race that attracts runners from all over the world the weekend has bus tours, talks as well as an amazing 10k and half marathon route.  AND if after all that you still have energy then wait and enjoy the MOKRUN Ceilidh!  Click here to find out more >>>>

Kintyre Way Relay and Ultra - Saturday 16th June 2012

The Kintyre Way Relay and Ultra is a trail-running event, from Tarbert to Campbeltown along the Kintyre Way, Scotland’s most scenic long-distance path.  Varied terrain, from hill paths and forestry tracks to beaches and seaside rocks.  Stunning scenery with views across the sea to Arran, Islay, Jura and Gigha.  Click here to find visit the Kintyre Way relay website  >>>>

Gigha Music Festival - Friday 29th June to Monday 1st July 2012

The Gigha Music Festival has moved to last weekend in June and celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2012!

Tarbert Seafood Festival - Saturday 7th July to Sunday 8th July 2012

The Tarbert Seafood Festival, set around Tarbert's natural harbour at the tip of Kintyre, is one of the area's main annual events held on the first full weekend in JulyThis is definitely something to celebrate and promote. RNLI Gala Day and Raft Race - Saturday 21st July 2012 (tbc)
